I am trying to synthesize my own kick drums ( within Audiotool ) and I usually have trouble making it loud enough. the problem is, when I distort in any way, it keeps sounding like an 808, which I don't want. If anyone knows an answer, please let me know.

If the attack is too short, you may lose some.of the transient though, so be careful with attack time too.
