lately, ive been noticing that my instruments have been sounding empty, i try adding more chords layers, or more bass, but it doesnt help the problem. is there anyway, or any tips to get a more fuller/powerful sound?

If you post some examples of the thin sounds you're making and want to be more full, that will help.
Generally speaking, layers are the key to making something more full and bigger, but that also applies to a song in general in terms of filling out the frequency spectrum in a pleasing way.
There is also the possibility that you are producing a lot of mono sounds that are stacking, rather than producing a variety of different stereo images that will add to the size of a sound. Sound should be 3D.
