During some fast hi-hat rolls, the sound of the 1st hat in the roll cuts into the 2nd one, 2nd into 3rd and so forth. Is there any way I can make it to where the sound gets cancelled immediately as the next one plays?

I guess you're using the https://www.audiotool.com/board/manual/machiniste . I don't know if the "exclusive" switch works for a single instrument, but it's worth a try.
Another approach would be to reduce the "end" control until there's no overlap.
As far as I know, each individual Machiniste sample slot is monophonic. Either he's using different slots, in which case the Exclusive switches should solve the problem, or he's using another device.
