As a beginner, I find the available tools quite overwhelming. Could someone please guide me on which tool would be suitable for creating a drone sound? Thank you.

It all depends on exactly what type of drone sound you're going for.
Any sustained note is technically a drone..
The easiest synth to get stuck into is probably the Pulverisateur. Play a single sustained note on a loop, then play with the frequency section, as well as the modulation portion. It's also worth turning on oscillator 2 and playing with the tuning for Oscillator 1 for some really interesting pitch bendy/modulation sounds.
The envelope sections for the filter and amplitude will help you shape how the sound develops over time; attack is how long it takes to get from nothing to peak, decay is how long it takes to get from peak to sustain, sustain is the chosen amplitude/level for a sustained note, and release is the time it takes to get from sustain level to nothing once the note has been released.
Hope that helps.
Thank you for explaining and providing direction, Cal. I plan on trying out your suggestion today.
