you can also raise the high end out of your sample or synth. then if you add some vinyl crackle sound on top of that, it should do the trick. you can also use chorus or other effects to make something sounded detuned or "wobbly" but that isn't always necessary or musical. using a crusher works fine too but if that vinyl sound is what ur looking for, it may not be the best choice. hope that was helpful to someone

Use the crusher and turn down the rate.
This should be used very sparingly, play around with the mix on it too.
