I'm considering using Distrokid to distribute my music to spotify, itunes, youtube (content id), etc. but I just wanted an outside opinion on if I should use something else and why. I've heard from a lot of my friends that Distrokid is a pretty good distribution service though.

I don't have personal experience with Distrokid, but it has excellent reviews. Here's an article describing it among other options: https://www.musicgateway.com/blog/how-to/the-best-music-distribution-services-for-2020
By the way, Bandcamp seems to recommend DistroKid :) https://get.bandcamp.help/hc/en-us/articles/360008375813-Do-you-distribute-my-music-
really recommend Distrokid, you keep your royalties
Distrokid is the best in my opinion easy to use and quite quick within a week you should be active on all sites so yeah use distrokid
you get access to Spotify Artist to edit your profile and get live stats on everything else so yeah worth the $30 or whatever it is
lmk how this goes for you, looking into this myself
I ended up using distrokid and I have carnelian on almost all platforms now with no problems :D
There is a free alternative for Distrokid but does not have all the same features but anyway, it is called amuse.io
amuse.io
Does it still count? What about OneRPM? Should I stay away from them?
