The reason for this reset is to remap the MIDI inputs for Beatbox 8 and 9 so they follow the General MIDI standard This will make things more consistent across systems, so a kick in BB8 will also be a kick in BB9 and in Gakki, and the same applies to hi hats, crashes, and other sounds.

Yes, that was absolutely necessary for the path forward. If there was an alternative which would've worked - we would've taken that any day. Sorry for any frustration this may have caused.

I'm in my first real development role this year. We're running a staging environment and a live environment and it's a lot for my small team to keep up with. I know that audiotool is not some huge organization, and is prone to the same fine-line balancing acts that come with a project this huge. I think the move to open up the beta to the whole community was a great one, though it leaves more moments like this open to the future. Here's to this all being worth it in the end! 🍾
