We are very happy to announce that https://www.audiotool.com/user/khoi98/ is joining our team! As most of you know, he has already worked on some AT related projects (eg. a MIDI exporter). He did that by reverse-engineering the internal audiotool file format was well as some of our API. That guy really has some hacker qualities!
As for a first task, he is re-implementing the audiotool radio (http://radio.audiotool.com - currently flash only) in plain html / js. After that, he will dive into writing the long-overdue audiotool mobile app!

Happy to help ;)
Congrats man! hope you have a great time working for Audiotool
It was a great experience to watch you growing up and learning all that stuff. Well deserved my friend :)
this is actually so cool, it makes me really happy how close the devs are with the community and to know that we're now united in a way :)
Congrats!
I assumed he was already on board. But I guess because if what you said in the op.
been waiting for something like this to happen!
They grow up so fast ;-;
yayyy
Gg @khoi98
Still use that download counter :D
Congratulations!! :)
Very cool, can't wait for a mobile app :p
wow pot you are the best !
Yooo that's so awesome! Congrats Khoi!!
Id say welcome aboard, but im not even on myself
Whatever... Welcome aboard!
Wow! I wish I was one of you guys... :P
The app should be a PWA. Hope iOS supports it soon!
It's debatable on whether the radio should be PWA. Most focused feature of PWA is ServiceWorker, which keeps the application accessible even when offline. However, it is obvious that if you're not online, the radio would be useless; so, there's not much of an necessity to implement ServiceWorker at all. It might be a good exercise for me, though! i would definitely try and include a webmanifest which would make the app discoverable under search engines.
<3 yeet the radio is coming back
Why not cache a few tracks from the worker? That way, the radio works offline for a few tracks. Just send a few urls for tracks to the client via the server, and cache them so that they work when offline.

That's a good idea. For me, I think it's best not to opt-in users by default to pre-fetch tracks (especially for mobile devices on data). If this gets implemented, it will be an opt-in thing.
audiotool radio and audiotool mobile.
hell yes.
https://www.audiotool.com/user/khoi98 thank you so much you lovely, lovely boy.
Yeah, opt-out would be a bad idea. Caching tracks on wifi and playback when on LTE may even save data for some users.
Man, I really hate iOS...
Audiotool mobile, man have I been waiting for this.
lol
Whats up ollie its genaro aka dj sparkz what you been up to?
also, I wish the Sample Uploader wasn't disabled, because of stupid copyright stuff.
i was planning on making my new song called gatorade haterade but its disable i wanted to add my vocals on my project but i didnt know it was disabled at that time.
:) yay
Good luck Potasmic!
Your work is greatly appreciated.
:D
OH shit I remember radio
AT radio is awesome!

Only just seeing this now. Congrats Potasmic!!!
I'm thinking of making a operating system. now thinking... I'll probably try to get audiotool booster. but... i think it will need people that KNOW how to program. I'm only about 15.
It all starts with getting a computer first.
Awesome!!
otay
congradiuli .... congratz pot
Congrats!
will he ever make the MIDI EXPORTER work with "audiotool-next 1.0".......or does it already work.....or is it possible to export midi by simply connecting a midi sequencer to chrome browser and recording what Audiotool plays back?
@micefive1 I never thought about adding support on the hardware side of things for exporting. That's a potentially good idea. But honestly, MIDI export should be a native feature rather than an add-on anyways. Perhaps that's the content for https://www.audiotool.com/board/feature_requests
@andremichelle open source would be awesome, especially since audiotool isn't a subscription service or monetised in anyway. But I get that there are priorities
@andremichelle Open source would be a great idea!
I just followed you on GitHub too lol
I sent you this link https://www.audiotool.com/board/feature_requests-LQDovdBXe because this is the only thread the developers check for Feature Requests
Correction for the link: https://www.audiotool.com/board/feature_requests
(why is there so much confusion about the feature request board?)
Very excited to see what he does!
This is a rather old thread.
