Starting May 18, the Beta will go offline for final preparation work. As part of this process, the Beta system will be reset - all projects, uploaded samples, and accounts created during the Beta will be permanently removed. Your data on the current (non-Beta) platform is not affected. Please make sure to back up anything from the Beta you want to keep before May 18.
Around May 20, the old website will also go offline. Additional technical work needs to be done there as well, and during that time no new input or uploads will be possible.
We're targeting **May 26 **for launch.

No, the legacy studio will be sunsetted once the new studio launches.
could we per chance make a launcher on this platform that lets us revisit what came before?
...Are we absolutely sure the launch date isn't too early? A two weeks notice doesn't seem like enough time to fully fix every single issue in time especially given the size of the dev team. My fear here is when legacy studio projects are finally and permanently carried over, any unintentional changes or bugs during the conversion process that were missed (or even created after previous fixes) during the beta will be rendered permanent. Even 5 days away from the beta being taken offline i'm finding issues.

The last thing we want is for this to be rushed.
I haven't bothered working in the new studio because I've simply been on other projects and been trying to straighten out personal life things, but I'm hoping that things will eventually work out in the end.

Hey, to clarify: your music was not and will not get deleted.
The Beta reset only affects the temporary Studio environment itself, not published or saved tracks on your Audiotool account. The upcoming launch replaces the old Studio, but existing music projects are not being removed.
It was on the beta, i made a new version of my song on the beta but it got reset so it sounds like the old studio version

Okay, on the beta we really communicated that project deletions could and would happen during testing. We understand it’s frustrating to lose tracks, but this was an expected part of the beta phase. But good news: we still only have to get through this one more time, and then we’ll finally be past it

for some reason no it hasnt worked the same. I typically use multiband compressors to get the disperser sound but in the beta studio it seems to no longer work

I'm rendering something and it's taking days. Due to that I can't attend any of my drafts. And I just need to ask: is it safer to publish all of my drafts before the 20th, so there will be 0 loss of any of my legacy stuff or is it certain that the conversion process works fine?
I've seen a bunch of people publish their stuff as emergency backup, and I'm inclined to do the same, but I have literal 1000s of drafts across several accounts. Plus I wanted to publish some in a roll-out as EPs, albums and such. That would kill all the surprises.
All that said, should I be worried?

All relevant pages make it to the new version. Some new and reworked. Some still missing a thing here and there. But it’s a new promising starting point for significantly faster changes in the future. And we will collect and review all the feedback we will receive.

Hi everyone, we want to add more context before launch.
We know this is a big change. For many of you, the old Studio means years of muscle memory, drafts, releases, and personal history. We do not take that lightly.
The new Studio is ready to become the main place to make music on Audiotool, but launch does not mean everything is finished. There will be bugs, workflow issues, conversion edge cases, details to improve, and new things to add.
The website is launching as a new foundation, not a final polished state. Core pages and interactions are there. Some community features, notifications/comments, profiles, artist-page controls, and polish will still be catching up.
Why launch now? Running two platforms in parallel splits development, testing, support, maintenance, and migration work. Moving to one foundation lets us focus fixes and improvements in one place.
Your current Audiotool account, tracks, and non-beta data are not being deleted.
Old Flash-era presets, ending October 1st 2018, will not be carried over because converting them through multiple formats would require too much effort. Projects containing these presets will convert fine, and you can recreate presets from those projects. You can also do this in the old Studio by dragging presets into a project and creating new presets from them. All post-Flash-era presets will be carried over.
The beta system is separate and will be reset as described above. The old Studio and website will not remain available after launch.
Audiotool is changing. We now have a team working on the platform daily, so we can make changes again, quickly. If workflow or sound issues appear after launch, we can address them, quickly. Bug report and feedback channels will be available.
We know some reactions will be emotional. That is okay. Audiotool matters.
We are not asking you to accept launch-day issues as the new normal. Help us identify what hurts most, so we can fix it first.

RIP legacy studio, u brought me so many memories and have been the studio that has taught me so much over the years, def will miss the simple layout and the workflow. I’ll forever remember all the Highschool years I spent on audiotool making music during and after class for many years and can’t be more thankful to experience that era of audiotool. All things come to an end and new things come

Man, as a newcomer to Audiotool as a whole, having played around with both the regular studio and Beta for a bit... can definitely say that the Beta is FAR AND AWAY an improvement. Pretty much ANYONE saying they prefer the old Audiotool is too overcome with nostalgia, haha. (Imo, ofc. Everyone's subject to their own opinion. Even if those opinions are wrong :3)
