True, true. However they were less blocky pre-update to the point where i could tell which parts of my tracks were hook sections and verse sections.

Excluding my compression nightmare tracks, i've noticed that other users' tracks also have significantly blockier waveforms after the update.

Mate you have absolutely no dynamic range in your music, if it wasn't a block before it was a bug 😅

Try opening them in any audio editor like audacity

Not a comment about your producing skills, I understand it's a stylistic approach :) I dig them

My track waveforms were still blocks prior to the update, just slightly more detailed (most of the time). Now in uncompressed tracks, waveforms currently seem less detailed post-update (just like my own heavily compressed tracks, but not as severe). Uncompressed waveforms now look smoothed out and flattened compared to how those waveforms looked pre-update.

Oh, an yes, I’ve put my tracks into audacity before. You could build a house with those blocks.

Yes, it still does persist.
Also " Continuous playback on mobile devices when locked or in the background " still glitches like before. Maybe performs a bit better than previously, but still isn't working smooth.

I try to play a song, then it keeps loading forever, and it doesn't go away when i refresh.

the audio visualizer has done nothing for people but make it difficult for some users to load playback, and since it's such a minor feature I think it's best that they just removed it rather than try to make it work for everyone

You're right, we found more problems. Will push up fixes in the next update

Fixed. Links in descriptions will no longer cause player to stop. A couple of other player bugs have been resolved as well.

@a-records unfortunately, I'm a dumb mother fucker. I only have primary school diploma, so there is no way I can come up with something valid. I am sure you guys know 100x better what to do.
Anyway, glad to hear something is being worked on with single charts :)

my only concern is that all it takes is pure spam and exploits for most to just land a spot there

as far as "quality content", curation should be a thing highly encouraged

I think a good idea is not to let one genre in single charts more than once otherwise it can all be filled with just trap, or hip hop, or whatever. I think to discover more music single charts need to include as much genre as possible.
Maybe a personalized single chart in the future would be a good thing. Single chart made for me based on my listening history, what I like, and what music I listen to :)

For example single charts this week consist of 6 trap songs... a bit too much.. take the best performing song in trap category and let other genre fill the rest of the chart.

sila makes a great point and I definitely agree. I would say there are tracks that really deserve to be featured when they aren't. I'm not saying we shouldn't celebrate the success of others, but it seems a little unfair to have one genre take the majority, like sila said.

It doesn't sit right for me for the trap genre, which is already incredibly popular, to overwhelm the singles, because it is unfair to the people who work hard in other genres that don't get as much recognition. All forms of art need to be appreciated in one way or another.

It's also irritating because a majority of people who are there are spamming their tracks on other people's walls. They plug their shit everywhere.

that would be a good idea, to have one of each genre max, but what would we do if 2-3 meme songs(disguised as reggae or birdcore) make the singles, simply because the other categories have already been filled. wouldn't we be in the same position as before?

I would say there is no clear solution and that it will take work to find a good solution. I think what sila proposed is a good baseline that can be expanded/changed in some way.

I also agree with @aya-chan that there is a distinction between Singles and Featured. If I'm not wrong, Featured tracks are hand-picked to be featured, while Singles is chosen by an algorithm (again I could be totally wrong).

How about you gather your ideas and post them as a joint feature request?
