The first round of the Summer Games is complete, and we are truly impressed by the number and excellent quality of the submissions. You guys rock!
Now, let's shift our focus from Naswalt to a user who has won multiple contests during their time on Audiotool as well.
A big thank you to rai. for the fantastic second challenge.
In the second round of the Audiotool Summer games, rai. challenges you to create an amazing track without using the timeline. This means you can't use note regions, audio tracks, or automations. Think about which device you can control with each sequencer and create a track that stays engaging despite the limitations. Remember, only the available sequencers are allowed. Therefore, let go of your habits and take action!
Challenge Summary
All instruments are allowed as long as they don't appear in the timeline
No note regions, no automation, no audio tracks in the timeline
In short, the entire track needs to be created on the desktop using the sequencers
I love how
@rai.
's challenge has resulted in probably one of the most F-penta heavy playlists on the planet, as a by-product of the inherent tonality of the tonematrix. If you really want to stand out in this contest, you'd better use that scale in moderation. :)
what is the ruling on tempo automation, it says no automation and tempo automation is technically part of the timeline but it also doesn’t contribute to the timeline
I’m working under the assumption that it isn’t allowed still but the question deserves to be asked
All samples are allowed! But you'll be judged by your creative use of the devices, so if your whole track is composed from a bounced sample playing from the machiniste, it will count against you.
