this good piano and guitars now <3
let me save me projects and publish...
Some new features users might appreciate:
YES.
gakki <3
🚀!!
i want to plug a couple more features I'm excited about :D
the region stretch tool is so freaking cool man
Already made something. waiting till ur able to post
"This is an early beta version and updates are released regularly, which means tracks may not always remain accessible. If you’re working on something you want to keep, please download your track as a WAV file."
I want to clear up that this means tracks made in beta could be deleted if we need to make breaking changes to the new format before the full release.
For now, clicking "Publish" will just download a WAV to your computer. Please feel free to share it here though!
big L
I hope gakki gets wayyyy more stuff, like 200-500 different sound added. its very very good.
wtf
mmm... giving this a go i suppose..................
The studio looks so beautiful oml
I like the studio a lot and the ability to record vocals directly is a lot more helpful. but also a few things are that every once in a while the studio will turn white and I will have to reload it. Also when you open up the visual with the wires it’s harder zoom in and out, as well as a glitch with a wire where it looked like it was pulled to the right for some reason (not too big of an issue). Other than that, the new Gakki is insane and I love it. I just feel like to make it even more vocal friendly there could be some autotune/vocal plugin cus I’m out of tune and also that would be cool for rappers or singers. Also one last thing is that u should be able to merge samples audio tracks like in the og studio because it gets kinda messy. But it is an amazing new studio and w gakki
u can still merge stuff just different
add back being able to change the colors of the wires and add autotune devices
cables fixes + colours are almost done and will be in the next update
Woohoo!
audiotool
🙃
? 😭
Could you guys add "patch to existing connection" please? It's a life-changing feature
We will add this back in soon. However in the meantime you can try this:
Ooo that's actually very cool
Basically Bandlab but more refined
more like FL studio had a baby with OpenDAW or bandlab
suggestions:
ctrl + scrollwheel to zoom and middle click to pan - it's become a central part of my workflow in ableton and it'd be a nice QOL feature here too!
more time signatures - i like my crazy time signatures... let me make music in 23/8!!
asymmetric waveform editor - self explanatory
do you mean on the timeline? we're actually working on something like that, will hopefully ship soon
yeah on the timeline. that's awesome!!
also to clarify because reading again it's NOT self explanatory - i mean waveshaping asymmetrically. with the waveshaper. that's what i mean.
just think of the bootleg guitar vst's that could come from a waveshaper upgrade.
the API is open and the SDK's are being given out like candy... want to see if we can get some vst's running in the new beta?
import ur own vsts like bandlab did w their subscription but dont make it subscription based.... im poor.. thats my idea
they should make it so you can put samples into the devices like Heisenberg and whenever you play a note it changes the pitch of that sample to the note you pressed, kinda like in FL studio
more time sigs: also nearly done should be in the next update
It's great! How can you publish the track though? I'm looking everywhere and I cant find it
this
You can't publish tracks yet, but you can export them to wave file (top right "download" button)
its not out yet there isn't publishing
yes?
Won’t load on Chromebook?
the devs will never escape the sampler feature request.... i was wondering as well, it is by far the most requested device, and yet we do not actually have one. okay sure, we have gakki and LABS but people want to use their custom samples
+1 on asymmetric waveshaper its been a long wished for thing for me
Well FL has a browser based daw now. But it’s still in beta though
deez
Yurp
I thought by now they would've moved, but they didn't.
Beautiful
Regardless of whether it's a sampler or not, it would be cool if the community would get to be able to send over some sort of sample library.
I know that takes a crazy amount of time to create, but I'd love to contribute if I could get the opportunity.
must be a certain type of Internet
We're not escaping it, it's just a big feature and we're still working on finishing some of the basics. Gakki was actually a relatively easy addition, so we thought it was the right move to add it in beta.
Maybe we could reduce the scope the Sampler for initial version, then add more complex features like sample zones, modulation etc. in future. That way something could be delivered sooner.
But anyway not making promises, bear with us for now! :)
alright, that's good enough 😔
I somewhat was able to use studio on an ipad
Creating a web app is so much work
i managed to do it on an xbox
ok well idid it on a calculator so there i win
I did it on an Atari. Beat that
I built my own out of sheep’s wool, toothpicks, and hair gel
I did it with a potato
I tried that at first as well, but it started to smell bad, and then the humidity in the air basically turned it into vodka
I can run the studio in my head on 0.5 braincells
god bro im about to delete my comment
Vst import is in the making
YES
what I really liked about the original Audiotool piano roll is the audible chord preview when moving notes in a certain chord. This feature is very powerful when building complex chords and inversions, but seems to be missing in the new beta version.
can there please be an option to disable the breaker getting tripped from it being too loud
This is really bad... it coughs so bad on my new windows machine it sounds like my chromebook trying to play this thing... and as for my chromebook itself? Nothing at all, can only see the old studio which I can already see is superior to this. If the old studio should go away, that is okay by me, I will go back to Audiosauna which still runs on my Chromebook and I have a new tracker project which I wish ran on anything other than my windows- sigh
son 😂😂😂😂
We're optimizing performance as we go, we still have a lot to do in that area. We're aiming for new studio to be equivalent or better than old. Please send us your PC and Chromebook specs to the feedback form linked above
Do you have note preview on? (headphones icon on top-left in the editor). Or is it something else you're describing? Can you please submit a feedback form and perhaps even a video of what you mean. We definitely don't want to miss old features like that :)
sorry for the notification spam, had to edit that comment a bunch :)
omg one of those words has to disappear from the name generator 😂
broski why is the studio in beta and already tryna be freaky
why is it working just fine on my Chromebook, but everyone elses chrome is tweaking
Merge was renamed to Join & Flatten and functionality slightly improved. Does that work as expected for u?
i would just like to say the new gakki instrument is amazing
LMAO
prob remove throbbing i cant see that going well with much
but wheres autotune at 👀 they r really dodging that
Are you guys planning on adding scale highlighting for piano roll? It would be another great QOL feature
can we still use old audiotool if it actually drops? i done got used to the old interface a lot and id hate to let it go
yk what they always say, old is gold
You also gotta get used to change. You know what they say, change is inevitable
it will find another way
y'know what I say, "E"
factual, dudios
I must have not seen that
My review of this Beta studio is pretty critical. When I originally left, it was due to performance issues and the lack of visible, meaningful updates. But this new update, after plenty of tweaking and stress testing, seems worse overall at the moment. The biggest issue I noticed immediately is the feel. Opening the studio should make me think “Audiotool.” Instead my first thought was “BandLab.”
Partnering with Spitfire LABS is a great move. However, this new layout may not be one of the better ideas to come from a-records. It truly feels like I’m staring at a collection of compressed windows. We’re missing the simple, organized, spacious feel that the current studio offers. The option to open and close panels helps, but not in a way that actually solves the problem.
Because this layout is so fundamental, it’s unlikely that feedback alone could result in major change. However, there is one possible solution: pop-out windows. This would allow real organization and spacing for users with multiple displays. Unfortunately, for single-monitor users, especially Chromebook users, this may not help much.
Performance also needs significant work. I’ve tested this beta studio across multiple VMs (virtual machines aka simulated computer environments) using various hardware profiles and drivers. While not perfect, this does let me test performance across many system types.
I've found that, even for a beta, performance is on par with the old Adobe Flash Player version of Audiotool. Stability varies heavily by system specs, and sometimes not even that. For example, my personal computer has very capable, high-end hardware. Yet it struggles far more with this beta than the average Jo's computer does with the current Audiotool Studio.
I sincerely hope major improvements are made to this beta studio, otherwise we risk long-term damage to the Audiotool community. We've always looked for betterment. Not augmentation. This has the opportunity to be a great update, given receptiveness is heavily involved.
the circuit breaker feature is driving my friend to insanity. I've been watching her wither away
Watching her waste away is breaking my heart
The limited space due to many panels open in desktop-on-top is also an issue that's been raised internally and we're working on a solution. Both in panel behaviour and overall sizing of UI elements. Opening panels in new windows is also planned.
As for performance, yes there's plenty more to optimize and I hope we can get it to a much better state before launch. If you have any useful data for us from the testing you've conducted feel free to pass it on via feedback form.
Thanks for your time thoroughly testing and giving constructive feedback!
agreed
YES I ALSO STRUGGLE WITH THIS
Blud I am NOT reading all of this 😭🙏
lootoidua
chatgpt.. summarize this
A request to summarize something.
ChatGPT's summary: The reviewer argues that the new Audiotool Beta Studio feels worse than the current version, with a cramped, BandLab-like layout that loses Audiotool’s identity and organization. Performance is inconsistent and sometimes as bad as the old Flash version, even on high-end systems. They warn that without major changes, the update could harm the Audiotool community despite its potential.

https://www.audiotool.com/track/4tpr8kvlk41 made completely with the new gakki device in the beta (aside from vocals and producer tag obviously!) i am loving this new studio and i cant wait for it to be finished!
same
issue when using the fx send
when using it, it layers both the raw signal and the one with the effects
not sure if it's intentional but it makes doing something like sidechaining with the new mixer impossible
please lmk if i'm being dumb and missing something
hi
I CAN'T DO THIS SHIT ANYMORE IT'S DRIVING ME FUCKING INSANE
How can we help?
jokes aside i'll make a bug report 😭 i figured out what's causing it
Great! Thank you very much
Thanks for the report. To understand what you’re trying to achieve, please share the setup you used for this in the old Studio. That’ll help us see the intended routing and guide you properly.
I personally really agree with @alchemind on most points (i dont really know anything about performance). I feel that the unique thing about Audiotool is that unless you're a longtime user who understands everything, there's always something new you can try. You don't need to use every feature for a banger track, and every tweaked parameter is a little bit of extra spice in your song. Also, I find that old Audiotool gives very oldish and analog vibes, especially with the Machiniste, Pulverisateur, and the stereo speaker that has to be hooked up at all times for audio. It feels like you're working with the inner complexities of your sound, and actually messing with it. Now, the new beta makes you feel much more distant. It feels like there's a display screen on everything, and that everything is being worked on through an interface, which gets rid of the "working with the sound" element. However, I feel that all the new features, particularly plugin support, are a brilliant idea. The inbuilt mixer is also a brilliant idea, and I'd love if our current AT is put on another part of the website. Maybe legacy.audiotool.com? All in all, I feel this is a brilliant update that just needs some tweaking, particularly in the UI sector. Also (this is just a personal opinion), the new notes segment (I think that's what they're called?) looks pretty Garagebandy. The current one is a lot more compact, so you can scroll through a lot of tracks much easier. Please don't take this as a very angry and negative one-star review, as I actually do think this is a good update for Audiotool.
Now that you bring it up the piano roll does give a GarageBand feel
you can still sidechain and it not that hard
You’re absolutely right that some tweaking is still needed. We’re at the very beginning of the open beta, and feedback like yours is exactly what helps us refine things. We take impressions like this seriously and let them flow directly into the ongoing UI adjustments.
Regarding the idea of a separate legacy version, that’s not something we’re planning at the moment. The focus is on bringing everything forward into the new environment and improving it there with the community’s input.
Also, about the look and size of the note regions, you can change their appearance using the percentage zoom control at the top right of the timeline or region area. That might already make navigation feel a bit closer to what you’re used to.
Since this is a beta, we want to take this chance to again encourage the community to share detailed feedback wherever possible, as the level of detail directly affects how precisely we can improve the experience.
Really appreciate you taking the time to share this.
Is there any way to set up a custom location in the booster for LABS? It looks like the option is available (since there is a default path button), but I somehow couldn't find a way to change it. I have almost everything from labs downloaded, but on a different drive. Don't want to have to slap everything back on my overfilled C.
The path shown there is editable. You can simply click into the text field and manually enter the file path to your LABS library on the other drive. There isn’t currently a browse or folder selection button, so the path needs to be typed in directly.
OK, I must've done something wrong before then. Thank you.
It would be very helpful to have a count in when recording
never mind found it
it would be nice to have an import midi section
why does it the beta so long to load me into the studio
I've tried countless times today but its stuck on the load
Work in progress 👍
Still? Works flawlessly over here
yah even now, I think it may be my wifi
thx
LMAO
https://audiotool.github.io/midi-import/
until it is build in you can use this little nexus tool to import midi
I'd actually like to hear an answer on this too. I'm working on an album and instead of finishing each song sequentially, I'm rotating through them, so I have several tracks that are half finished and I really don't want my work being gone when this update comes out. I've tried loading my tracks into the new studio but it botches them since it just tries it's best to recreate the tracks with different tools. Plus it would still be a ton of effort to fix everything.
Not sure if this has already been answered, but will the old studio still be usable once the new one comes out? I have a lot of tracks that are halfway finished that I would like to finish someday and I really don't want all that work getting deleted. I know you can import your tracks form the old studio into the new one, but it's not a 1:1 recreation and they always sound off. Sometimes it even breaks so bad that the track becomes unrecognizable lol and I don't want to have to manually fix everything. Anyway thanks in advance
The old studio won’t remain available indefinitely once the new version is fully rolled out. However, nothing you’ve created will be lost. All of your tracks and drafts will be preserved, and you’ll be able to continue working on them in the new studio.
Right now in beta you could lose projects if they do a major update, but I see they'll make sure when the new AT comes out you'll keep all of your projects from here and be able to open then in the new studio. I'm unsure if this, current version, will be kept as a legacy version.
Honestly testing on virtual machines is a bad call. It's always gonna be limited in terms of anything, no matter how much resources you give. Testing on host is always better and most accurate.
Figured, they're not planning on adding a legacy version yet.
Ok, I have a question or questions about the new set up. I've noticed that everytime you add a new track or instrument or whatever it hooks up basically to the so called Receiver, so one of my questions is what's the need for the mixer if that's the case. Also, the way I used to do it from the old Audiotool set up is like this, I would run a graphic equalizer from the little receiver box and using a splitter, I would split my Graphic Equalizer off,...running into 2 Centroids(Master)., along with all my audio tracks and devices hooked up to each Centroid. I also usually add a Multiband Compressor to each Centroid, and turn up the Auxiliary's for each channel, which allows more compression and loudness to come thru with the right presetting for the Multiband Compressor. I've noticed it all sounds different now in the new set up. So I'm confused on a couple of things. Do we even need the mixers now, do we still need to compress things, and if so obviously there's a little bit of a different method for it all I guess, I'm not sure.
Also, I'm a big fan of Ableton's set up. Besides, me using the sickest Eq on the market FabFilter, I still like Ableton's basic little software version of it's Auto Filter, and I'm specifically a big fan of using HPF High Pass Filter for a lot of my sounds that way they don't clash with the drums and the basslines. So, I'm really having to get used to the HPF meter we use for the new AT version. Kind of confusing a bit. Idk, maybe that's just me. Also, another thing is, I'm also used to Sidechaining to my Single Band Compressors in the old Audiotool set up., So does all that kind of work the same too. Just spitballing some things that were on my mind for the new AT set up. Maybe someone can help me understand some of these things I'm pointing out. If not it's cool, I'll figure it out, but tips would be nice.
need to add a feature where you can automate the pitch slide in samples so we can get 808 slides
Basically, you can keep working with your system you just need to adjust it a bit. The mixer is actually quite practical, though. With a little getting used to, it has everything you need. We’ve just uploaded a video on YouTube with a sidechaining example, where you can also see a few other possibilities of the new mixer.
the way i setup sidechaining sounds more smooth and less artificial
Feel free to send us videos. The more different ways we have to show, the better

what ru doing bro..
Ok so we still need to use the mixer vs just letting everything hook up to the receiver. Well, I suppose it just depends. I'm always sidechaining my Drum loops or my Kick Drums to my basslines, considering I'm producing Dance music/Drum and Bass. I'll experiment with it all again. I appreciate the response back. Normally yea, I'm used to using the mixers, so I'll just do like you said, and just go in and do a little more adjusting. We shall see. I love the new set up, but I'm still just used to the old version. I'll get it down. Thanks again my friends.
when its fully done will i still be able to use the old studio
@a-records please make it an option it is really hard to use IM BEGGING!!!
This has been answered like so many times. The answer is no
when I first came on AT, it was very hard and confusing to use, now not so much.(still A LOT to learn tho) you just got to work on it and learn how to use it
@a-records since it isn't available after the new studio, can there be an option for it to look like the old one at least? cause its hard to understand and maneuver
@moderator i cant share my secret sauce. then everyone would be doing it my way and it would make my tec not special to me.
my secret lies in my projects 😜
I'm good. I don't need that so called Secret Sauce. I do my own thing, and hook up everything the way the pro's do it.
Well then, while we all wait for the inevitable update for Audiotool, here's a DJ set of mine to jam too. Short little Mini mix of some of the most bangin Drum and Bass tunes I've got. Maybe this can inspire everyone a bit. I hope you guys enjoy the mix. Cheers to all the creators, moderators, and devs, that make up the Audiotool team. Lovin the new set up guys....oh and Big thanks to Snad Bruegen and Kepz both for being my friends. You guys have shown me love and support for my music from the very beginning, ever since I started producing. So, I personally want to say thanks guys, that has always meant a lot to me. PLUR!!!!
https://youtu.be/VnTBe0KaNtM?si=cE9Gjn30H8BFqgcS
Come show some love for the Technical Ninja....I'm also on Soundcloud, BlueSky and Bandcamp. Also don't forget to subscribe to my Youtube channel to hear new tunes pretty much almost every week. I'm always in the studio, including learning in the newest AT Studio. If not AT, then I'll jump over to Ableton. One way or the other, there will be fresh beats coming.
there is a button on the left corner if you hover over it, it should say swap panels, for me that made the studio look and feel more like the current one.
you could try that
I like it better how the devices are organized in the beta tho
In a bit more detail: Keeping both versions online doesn’t make sense. The old studio still requires a lot of maintenance, which is becoming less and less effective because the code is simply too old. However, we’re working with you and using the detailed feedback to ensure that the new studio meets all the needs of current users as well.
It won’t look exactly the same, but we’ve understood your signals and are currently working on a way to adjust the layout with just a few steps so that users who are used to the old layout will feel more at home.
can we drag the layout to our liking, kind of like obs and some video editing softwares
In general, the layout is more flexible than in the old studio. You can set up quite a lot the way you like it. Maybe the next update will bring it closer to your preferences.
Can you attach your original account with new Audiotool?
plzzzzzzz this is something we REALLY NEED
same i tried twice i couldnt get past the loading. gave up after 30 mins
It maybe your WiFi or maybe you need to update your browser cuz now it works
community site has the same accounts but its just the studio changing im pretty sure
so fwicken tuff like mangos n diddyphonk rizz edgelord emo fiddledinkus tripoddleberry sixtoseven ballfridge
They’ve said that all of the accounts will be automatically connected to the new studio
They also said that they might revamp the site itself
I NEED ALL MY UNFINISHED WORK TO TRANSFER OVER OR IM STAYING ON THE OLD AUDIOTOOL!!!!!!!!!
@beaminglights you can login with your existing account in the new audiotool. Some of your drafts from the current studio will be transferred.
thats what im saying
im definitely cooked then because my current connection is the best ive ever had 😭
I'll check my browser tho
WE KNOW.
Here is what's happening.
When beta and the new platform are ready, all projects and published tracks make it over to the new system. No progress lost. All good.
While beta coexist with the current platform, we use an older snapshot for projects to be available in the new system. Meaning, anything between snapshot date and today is not available in beta. Something like "daily sync" is not feasible due to the complexity of changes.
You all gotta test beta with us and for us and for yourself though. Because we gotta make sure once we are on the new system we got the core pieces in a good shape.
That's why it's as important to test older projects as well as making new ones.
is the booster in this post still the latest
It should be yes
No need to promote your stuff in this board, other boards for that exist.
Who don't know sound design.....hmmmpphhh....ok.
https://www.audiotool.com/sample/lingering_shadows/
Again, no need to promote here
Um so I'm having a problem...
I can't sign up or login. It keeps giving me errors even though I know what I'm doing... I can't sign in with Google btw. It says either invalid username or email. Please help!
the booster is wating for a connection. it says: "studio: waiting for connection" "audio: not running". Windows 11, Chrome
yknow just so i can keep track of things
when DO y'all plan to fully integrate this into audiotool? in a few weeks? months? i assume we'll get a weeks notice prior or something
There's the feedback button for a reason. also you've got to give them more information than just what it says
I think i found a bug
I was experimenting with the note splitter with a couple of sound designs.
And it played fine.
However when i tried to play it through the piano feature it does not play. even though it still produces a sound when i press play
Could you fix this and lmk if you done it
Thanks for reporting this and for taking the time to test the note splitter. This is actually a known issue on our side and we already have a ticket open for it. The team is looking into it and working on a fix. We’ll let you know as soon as it’s resolved. Thanks again for flagging it.
We can’t commit to a specific timeline yet, as the integration is still in active development and depends on testing and a few other moving parts. But we’ll make sure to give everyone a heads-up well in advance before it goes live.
Thanks for the report. Could you let us know which Booster version you’re currently using?
"few weeks"
Son 🥀
Booster v0.5.5 is out: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1d6GNuKxb0Tna9TvupVbU8TkFernPgqUK
"babe wake up, Audiotool just updated the Booster"
eventually we HAVE to Collab with FL studio, we're getting to their level little by little
What worked for me was changing my password in normal audiotool settings
It wouldn’t work though since FL is working on there own web DAW and AT would become a competitor
AT’s beta is better than FL’s web saw beta though
open presets and samples? will i be able to upload my samples n stuffy?
You can upload your samples by dragging them from Explorer directly onto the timeline
Drag from explorer?!
gasp
YES.
Thank.
Wait I didn’t know that makes things so much easier
Received FL web beta access today. It has an interesting, somewhat opinionated UI approach. The biggest hurdle I see is the feature depth, which is still fairly shallow.
Whaaaaaat bet that
Sadly that didn't work for me. possibly a bug?
Oh wow. No way. It's like that huh. Just drag and drop. Dang that's pretty convenient and awesome.
Also if I login in it says my email already exists... I haven't been on the new audio tool yet.
Log in using your existing credentials: username (dylanharris_anderson5_net) and the password you use here. To sign up for a new account, you must use an email address that is not currently in use here.
So far, the beta is decent. It recognized almost all of my tracks and imported them into the new studio! I'm still a little sad that some of my tracks got botched because Beta tried to replicate the song as accurately as possible with all of its new features. And I'm still waiting on the tuning to be added so that I can listen to my tracks detuned.
And I like the new Soundtrap-like layout.
