Automation positioning

anonymous user · started 2018-01-18 03:18 · updated 2018-02-01 21:38

When I try to automate parameters, the values I place automatically move to the value it was before I moved it if it is slightly offset, or it moves to any value in the automation. Was this intended to be helpful? Because I find it extremely annoying, and I don't know how to turn it off.

one reason why this is happening is if you are trying to automate parameters via the synth, the track is set to a specific point when it plays. for example, if you click "automate parameter" and you have a control box in the synth/control rack, the second you play it, the parameter will automatically read whatever parameter is in the control box and will override whatever you manually inputted into the synth.

otherwise it could be a bug

You have to push the record button if you want to manually move the knob if there is already an automation. If you don`t record it will use that already existing automation until you move the knob again which then jumps back to the existing automation if you push stop and play. Delete the automation or use record if you want to manipulate the knobs per hand.

lets say I'm making an automation,
I place a point at 1
and if i try to place another point at 1.5 it sticks back to 1 just because that was the last point I placed.
If I change it to 3 it's all good, since the values not close to 1.
the problem is that the program is assuming I want to place my values based on the values I previously set.
Do you understand now?

No sorry I really don`t understand what you mean....Never noticed the system assuming anything or moving a point automatically...You can change the grid from 1 bar to 1/128 and freely add points by double clicking in the grid.
