Velocity default is a 0

For some reason whenever I place a note it's velocity is always at 0, it happens no matter what draft im in. can someone tell me how to fix this??

Wrong board.

Open the Preferences menu (Window > Preferences or press Shift+P), click the Timeline tab and check the Default Note Velocity value. Change if necessary and press Done.
