"Forking" means he explicitly wants to develop two or more derivatives of one track which bookmarking doesn't provide AFAIK. But regarding the headline the request is a bit ambiguous :)
Judging from the features described here: https://www.audiotool.com/board/what_s_new/bookmarks it seems that bookmarks offer exactly the ability to create one or more derivative tracks from an original one and publish them independently.
@borozo If one wants to create a derivative track from another one -after- it has been published (I assumed the post meant unpublished drafts), wouldn't it be easier to just use the remix option?
Is it actually possible to copy device setup and automation from one project to a second project?
i am finding so far that it is only possible to copy and paste within the same project window; but I am encouraged to see that some people are describing that they are able to copy from one project to another. Is there a specific step that I might not know to transfer the copied parts correctly to the second project?
Thank you!! This is very helpful! it worked quickly and easily! It did not solve the publishing bug as I had hoped it might, but that is something that will be fixed eventually anywy!

You can just copy all devices of one track into a new one if this helps.
You can also use the bookmarks feature. It is a kind of "Save as" function.

Thanks. I've got to re-read this a few times since I'm still not sure how this works exactly :)
Jordi. Once you publish the track all bookmarks created from it are gone.
It's a better option to copy paste the whole setup and save as a draft.

Thank you both very much!

You'll have to open both projects in the same tab I guess. You can switch between multiple open projects via the menu to the top.
