Locked Device?

wolf · started 2018-01-30 22:29 · updated 2022-02-01 21:55

When I try to save a preset on a synth that I've made and liked, it says that the device is locked. I have no clue what this means! Can somebody explain what it means and how to unlock it?

Do you think it may be a setting they or you enabled without realizing?

I've had this happen to me just recently. I was trying to save a supersaw preset that I made on a Heinsenberg, and I got the same error message. I tried to save presets for the other machines on my desktop, but the same error arose.

Exit Next and go back in. It happened to me before too.

if you go to window up in the upper left and where it says the name of your song you can click that and then your device is unlocked (but save your work first before doing that)

Looks like a couple years later this issue is still persisting. Couldn't for the life of me figure out how to "unlock" it so I gave up as I was happy with it for the moment. Renamed the device to something more meaningful, didn't seem to work the first time, immediately tried to rename it and that "unlocked" the device.
