is there a deesser plugin?

hello, i want to know if theres a way to remove harsh “ess” sound in my vocals with one of the plugins or does that not exist?

I guess you could use a graphical equalizer to cut out sounds within a specific frequency range. Aside from that, I don't know anything that could help.

A deesser is typically a compressor that has an inbuilt filter within the input chain.

Split your vocal signal
Send one cable into a gravity input
Send the other cable into an EQ/filter and either highpass or bandpass it, selecting the frequencies as required.
Route this into the sidechain input of the gravity

You now have a deesser - compression will only be applied when the high/problem frequencies reach the threshold.

Could you just use a multiband compressor?

Yes - but this can add more computational power and phase issues (due to the bandpslitting that occurs). This doesn't mean it's not an option, just something to be aware of.
