Scroll your timeline to the right and check the end track marker (white vertical line). Drag it to the right if necessary, or double-click it and enter a bar number. You can make your song any length you like.
If for some reason 1024 bars isn't long enough for you, change the time signature and tempo in order to get more "time" out of your track. Writing at a higher tempo also makes it easier to use the auto tool for note length.
