How to use Glide?

Can someone explain how to use this? I don't really understand what it's for.

Glide connects the pitch of contiguous notes smoothly. The control usually sets the time in milliseconds that it takes the synth to glide the pitch from one note to the next. For it to work, the next note should start exactly where the first not ends. Otherwise you'll just have a silence between them. It is great for lead sounds or bass-lines. It is best to use it in monophonic mode, for single note melodies, because gliding chords is unpredictable (there are better ways to do that). Here's an explanation for the Pulverisateur: https://www.manula.com/manuals/audiotool/audiotool-user-manual/1/en/topic/devices-pulverisateur-pitch-section

Not related to arranging but to a function of the software.
