How to change sample pitch without changing BPM

1st : Is there a way to change the sample pitch without altering its bpm like Edison does on FL for example ? Would be huge time saving for vocal sampling :)
2nd : Is this possible to run a sample through a piano roll directly, so that we can sample a synth preset from YT for example, put it into the right note on this hypothetical piano roll and then we get a brand new synth with all notes possible instead of using Machinist and pitching up and down for ALL the notes ?
Big Thx

  1. Not really. All pitch algorithms in AT - sample editor, pitch delay pedal, or the machiniste - use time stretching as the core.

  2. No. - you could use the machiniste and then adjust the pitch of each note you need... But it's arduous, and affects the sample length of the oneshot.

  1. I just wanna add a slight workaround, its not truly legit but it can give a similar yet limited effect:

-- Hook up a PitchDelay to your vocal sample and set it to the following: Steps = 1, Length = 16, Feedback = 0 and Level = 100%
-- Manipulate the pitch knob up or down; 50% is the original pitch, but as you will discover your range is rather limited
-- If the sample sounds late, that is because it is technically using a delay, so for things to be in time you sometimes have to drag all of your vocal samples forward by a 16th note in the timeline.

hope that helps achieve something close to what you're hoping for!
