HELP pitching 808

Im using the machiniste and i created a not pattern with 808 and i pitched it but i still get that wobbly bass noise when it hits the lower notes in the pattern, Solutions? Thanks in advance.

that 'wobbly bass noise' is the sound of sub-freqs overlapping each other, causing a sound similar to extreme PM. If you want to get around this, either make your own 808's (really easy, plenty of tutorials online), or, change the 'End' point on the sample so it ends before the next note triggers the sample. When it comes to sub frequencies, you generally only want 1 note playing at a time, unless thats a stylistic choice youre going for. This is why you never hear people voicing chords through a subbas for instance, it gets messy quickly

Depending on his sample setup in the Machiniste, he could use the Exclusive function to avoid overlapping notes in a more flexible way.

ah yeah good shout! He'd have to load in multiple instances of the 808 to make use of that though no?
