I'm not familiar with the device you mention, but I'd recommend using the Gravity compressor: https://www.audiotool.com/board/manual/gravity, use a high compression ratio (anything above 10:1 is considered limiting) and use the Soft Knee parameter so that the compression ratio increases softly as the signal level approaches the threshold.
i've recently figured out soft clipping. but i keep thinking of ableton's soft clipping (or fl's) where the volume stops at a precise threshold, but here the knee seems to not allow it to really reach that threshold. i don't know what to do and i still feel things could get louder
