A lot of people don't know how to use tags and often are too arrogant to change into the right track. There should be a button or whatever to report!

A suggest button that after a lot of click makes appear something on the tag for making aware listeners that is the wrong tag, and if he changes, the thing will disappear (if there is no one that can check personally).
The abuse could be possible but the abuse of tags is already happening... If then will happen a lot of times that peoplemisuse the button u will remove it or find another way
If someone could click just once like a vote, the abuse could be done only with multiple accounts and i dont think a lot of people will do it!
Yess maybe i believe people more clever then they really are... I hope u guys will find a way, maybe just a thing that shows that the track is suggested as wrong tag, even little! But in my opinion something has to be done
I know you people work hard and i appreciate every little thing, that said i hope for the best!
I guess you're mostly referring to the genre tags? I also think they should be disputable.
The other tags are more or less descriptive and help with the search.
Yes i meant the man tag. Like trap producer using hardcore as genre and trap Just as a tag.
We're actually planning to make genre associations votable by the community. The artist still suggests a genre but the community may override this decision. This is also helpful in cases where the artist simply doesn't know the exact genre.
The exact genre will also lose on importance. We're planning to make the charts less focused on a single genre.
How well would it work if rather than changing the genre outright, it adds an indicator that the genre was deemed unfit, and the track is removed from the chart of the genre? The indicator would be removed if the genre is changed, thus making the track eligible to chart again.
That could work, but it would receive a ton of negative backlash because people tend to be protective of their charts.
It seems, though, that it would be the only solution that can work. I've turned over the thought of a charted track in the wrong genre, when moved to its correct one, would have the same chart. Let's say there's a trap song in funk, where it charted #5. If it were moved to trap, it would make sense that it would retain its charted status and be placed in #5 in the trap charts. The problem, however, is when it comes to quality. Funk, sadly, is not as popular as other genres, therefore it's 'easier' to chart there because less funk tracks are made than trap tracks. There are a lot of trap tracks, however, and they vary in quality greatly. It makes sense that the good tracks are placed in the charts.
What I'm getting at is that it's not really that hard to chart with a trap track in funk charts.
So if a trap track of awful quality charted... maybe #2 in Funk charts, then it wouldn't make sense for it to chart #2 in Trap charts because of it's quality.
TL;DR tracks placed in small genres chart more, and it wouldn't make sense for them to retain their charts when moved.
Therefore your idea has to work to avoid a catastrophe.
Lmao
trap kids putting trap in house, chiptune, downtempo, hardcore, future bass, Experimental,
EDM, Ambient, Soundtrack, Reggae, Industrial, Other, and, drum and bass.
@gearbotgd
I see the problem with the moving genre thing, with the same chart. Ahemtrap kids being little bratsAhem
I think the keep the same chart thing could work, but if its stupid, like your example, then technically, the trap track goes back down to zero, and has to climb the charts again.
I already know a ton of users are going to backlash on this, Because "My track charted in funk and it was number 1, NOW ITS ZERO BECAUZE THEY MOVE IT TO TRAP"
But its about fairness too(1/2)
based on your example, a trap track is charting in funk, but gets moved to trap, and is now number 2 in trap. The moderators should reset the track on the charts, because obviously, someone wanted attention.
Though, if its something very difficult to determine, then when moved, it stays in the same place in the charts
I hope im not being confusing lmao
Good point
