I have an idea where maybe users could chart in general or genres of most trending of the week
That's not the good one
maybe above the username on a profile, there could be a rank and it is based on the number of followers, from most popular to least popular

I liked that idea up to the point where you mentioned the follower count.

  • First off: the charts would be mostly static because some users have more than 1000 followers
  • we could change the metrics to "new followers". This would result in users creating lots of useless accounts just to create followers. How should we deal with losing followers?

If we use the same metrics as for the tracks, this could be interesting: We could rank the users by the number likes/listens they received for their tracks in the recent week. Having three titles on place #9 in some track charts, may still result in a higher rank for some "artist charts"
