In regards to the Audiotool Next timeline, there are several mechanics that should operate differently than they currently do.
Triple-clicking (or another shortcut) note regions should open a separate (larger) piano roll editor similar to the sample editor in Flash. This could potentially eliminate errors regarding Timeline Tool Shortcuts Don’t Work, Element Focus Errors, etc. and would be super helpful towards creating a nice user-friendly workflow
Clicking on a device attribute (i.e. Notes, Cutoff, etc.) in the timeline, it should select that timeline track enabling shortcuts like Ctrl+A to select all regions in that timeline track.
When working in timeline regions, Ctrl+A should select everything in focus (i.e. notes, automation points, etc.))
EDIT: Moved initial request (1) to it's own bug report

About 2. In Flash, clicking on the track name automatically selects all its regions. This doesn't seem to be implemented in Next. I found this feature in Flash very useful (for example, to quickly zoom the timeline around all regions of a given track: just click the name, then choose "Zoom selection". In general, I agree with the idea that AT's interaction model should be updated to support the most widely adopted selection methods consistently, everywhere in the interface. It would make it very easy for new users to interact with the app and work fast.
Whoa! I had no clue that that was an option in Flash, thanks for enlightening me (and for the support).
I suppose that's a missing feature in Next
