I think as someone whos been supporting audiotool since the begining while also using other DAWS sidechaining is something audiotool lacks, and should be a feature

Several plugins already allow you to sidechain, including https://www.audiotool.com/board/manual/compressor and https://www.audiotool.com/board/manual/gate_effect as well as the Gravity compressor (which for some reason doesn't have a manual thread for it.)
Sidechaining has been in the app since the beginning, as far as I know.

Thanks for the feedback but I really meant a singular plugin with sidechain
what's the point in having it?
Sidechaining is not an effect on it's own. What do you want to archive? If you are looking for a ducking effect (which is the most popular usecase for sidechaining), use one of the compressor plugins.
I think audiotool is the best at sidechain
Do what I do. Draw in a looped volume automation. Works in every DAW and Application. If your program is really low tech, also possible to use a volume LFO. You can also edit notetrack velocities manually. And yeah, there are two compressors with a Sidechain input too
The gravity is bae.
I never realized that the gate pedal had a sidechain input. I'll have to check it out. :)
