This may be a particular problem for people like me. I use physical synths. I record live elements, sequences and vocals, and I load them into Audiotool to arrange them, and to augment with the Audiotool effects, and software synths.
The current process on NEXT of using Probe to upload a sample to the cloud, and then having to search to attempt to find the sample you've just uploaded - it's proving a major barrier to me migrating to NEXT. This is because in my list of samples - there's a hell of lot of them.
A few refinements that would make a big difference:
- Sample automatically appears in the "track" samples list on the NEXT track you have open.
Else - Ability to order your own samples by "most recent first".
I tried using a date prefix in the file name, to make it easy to find the sample. However, this doesn't feel sustainable, and made my work-flow much more protracted. When I did try this - I also noticed that it's possible there is a lengthy delay between a sample being uploaded and it appearing in my list of uploaded samples.
In Flash Audiotool - the process of uploading samples is quick and easy.
As I have a number of decent free offline sample editing apps already, I don't need Probe, so in terms of importing samples, NEXT as currently working is a backwards steps - at least, in terms of how I work.
Hope that's useful.
