This would be great for live performance or recording.
After a sample is put into the Machiniste, right-click for an option to tell Next that whatever key (keyboard key, midi keyboard controller, or midi drum pad controller) is hit last, will be the key you want that sample to be assigned to.

This would be super fun if the Machiniste was overhauled and you connected a controller like a Launchpad c;
I think this is about triggering sample playback via midi, not controlling a parameter
Yeah it works, but it'd be helpful if you could assign a custom control for instruments with pads (like my Nektar LX61 or a Novation Launchpad), just to separate keys from percussion
