Push to talk

A push to talk option would be super useful for voicechat. Not sure how hard it is to implement something like that, but it'd make it more available to those of us who live in a somewhat noisy environment

  • You push a button
  • People can hear you talking
  • You release the button
  • People can't hear you talking

How would that work? Your mic is muted by default and only records when you hold a button? Or is it more like that what you have in most messenger apps, were you can record voice messages which a receive can listen to later?

The first of the two. It's what I use for voice chat in discord/skype/etc

Mic muted by default. User presses a button, mic now streams to server. User releases button, the stream stops.

So, like a school comms system? Press, Talk; Release, Silence?
