If you want followers to like and listen to your music frequently then I would suggest you make great music frequently which stands out. For that, you should get busy with learning everything you can instead of creating unnecessary feature requests being concerned about how to punish people that don't like your music. Learn to walk before you run, the saying goes.

Oh I could honestly care less if anyone actually listens to my tracks. They're all shit anyways xD. The idea just came out of the blue when I noticed a few accounts that publish tracks frequently and have high follower count. But nearly no listens on their tracks.
IMO they never should have implemented a way to get people to stop following you. It shouldn't be up to you whether or not someone can follow you. Maybe if they did something like Instagram's public/private account thing (by having people request to follow), that could satisfy the people who don't want dead followers, but because that would make no sense anywhere else on the site, it shouldn't be a thing.
Maybe just an option to remove the follow button on a profile would suffice
Yeah, idk why people are so concerned with having less followers??? Like, isn't it usually a good thing to have more??? And virus is right; you shouldn't have a choice in who follows you. Following is a feature for the followers, it is a feature that lets a follower receive notifications and updates on the followee.
Following is basically a notification setting; should you have the right to mess with other people's settings?
