Something simple, just when you click on a preset in the menu, it would play a one-octave C Major scale. This would give people an idea of what the preset sounds like, and would save so much time!
Also, this would allow people to browse presets across synths so much easier. For example, instead of browsing 'Synthwave' presets first on the Pulv, then the 'berg, and the Space, one could just search the general preset menu and not even have to create a synth until they find the right preset.
The playback would be the same as the sample playback, with a play/pause button.

I agree with this. I don’t like having to take so many steps just to hear the sound of a preset. If there was a way to listen to it easily, it’d help a lot.
