I would like to be able to pin some of my old songs at the top of my track list aside my newer stuff. Example, if I go back and work on an old song I'd like to promote it at the top with my newest songs.

Can second this. Not a bad idea. Could pin some of my best tracks at the top.

Would pinning affect the sorting by date and/or popularity?
Does re-publishing the song move it to the top of the (date-sorted)-List? (Even though this wouldn't suit @borozo 's intent)
No sadly it doesn't. It just updates the current song and leaves it where it is on the list.
Yeah that's pretty much the main reason I'd like to see a feature like this. More feedback and a little self promotion.
