Understandably, the AudioWorklet may alleviate the need for a feature like this. However, in cluttered, large workspaces, it may prove useful. This option would allow devices to be placed on top of others on the desktop. It’d be deactivated (in red) until moved to an empty space on the desktop.
I bring this up, primarily because it’s been difficult for me to do simple tasks like dragging devices to the desktop. I know you can click on a device to add it to an empty space in the desktop, but it isn't always created where you might want it. In fact, it's created relative to one location, always.
