When you create a note in a note region and move it to the exact position of another of the same duration and position, the topmost note should override the one(s) beneath it and cause them to be deleted. This would be helpful in reducing errors that might occur where the same note might be created multiple times and there’s no way to keep track of it (because they’re of the same position and duration). And, realistically, when using an instrument, you can’t press the same key multiple times in the same… time.

That's interesting to note, I see how overlapping notes could be used digitally.
However, there could at least be a togglable option to make this the case in certain scenarios.
Of course, I'd likely have to get more people on board in order to justify its implementation.
