An alternative to the piano roll could help those with classical music training get into Audiotool, as well as give AT more features over other online alternatives. Notation would likely have MIDI recording disabled, due to the nature of sheet music. This feature could help bring AT into some classrooms as a way to use sheet music, while also giving more flexibility than just samples of a few instruments, as seen with many notation programs.

in band class rn. good for people like my teacher.
Some programs can read incoming MIDI data an translate it to music notation in real time. Both representations aren't incompatible.
That's actually really cool, I wasn't aware it could work without stripping some features.
