The "Track Properties" button sits on top of the user chat panel right now. I think that track properties are not related to chatting. And they should be able to be changed easily without the need to open that panel. As a solution, I think that making the title of the track a bit bigger and clickable to change track properties (like in Flash, and in addition to a "Change properties..." item in a future menu on the top bar) is better.

Thanks André. I completely agree with not just quickly fixing things here and there now, but planning a strategy instead. I personally find that buttons and icons on the interface (especially on the top and to the left, the "hottest" area of an interface) should be given only to functions that will be used very often. Track properties are changed only occasionally. So maybe they belong in a menu. I feel the same about the MIDI setup icon. I don't imagine it being used all the time, so maybe also better in a menu.
Personally, I believe there should be a simple way for users to edit the properties of a track without necessarily opening (like making this available through the dashboard)
I understand most of the UI will definitely be revisited after the platform is stable, and while I do agree with implementing a menu bar similar to the one in Flash, in the future, people shouldn't have to go through loading screens to get something simple done. Better yet, properties should be editable in browser.
Yes, this is a much better idea. Changing the metadata of drafts and especially published tracks through the dashboard without opening the arrangement or re-publishing would be a great solution.
That' at least cleaner, thanks!
