It'd be pretty neat if you could merge not just notes in sequence, but parallel ones too, to help tidy up the arrangement if there's a synth with more than one note track.

and what would happen if you were to move one of the merged devices around?
I think he means a single device with more then one note track with regions playing on each track simultaneously. I actually support this idea.
