For those not familiar with Markdown, it's a wonderfully simple markup syntax. https://daringfireball.net/projects/markdown/
Because of its simplicity, it's become somewhat of a de-facto standard on message boards. It would be awesome if we could incorporate Markdown into our comments on Board. For instance, composing tutorials would benefit from having a simple way to generate header tags.

I just noticed that you support WikiText formatting on original posts, which would probably clash with Markdown. I still think having some markup options in our Board comments would be a nice touch, whether that be through WikiText, Markdown, BBCode, or whatever other options there might be.

Bumping this idea. I'd also like to be able to use text formatting on my profile description, at the top of the wall. It would be great to create sections and lists with personal bio, current projects, lists of collaborators/artists, etc. Also, I'm incorporating this idea here too: https://www.audiotool.com/board/feature_requests/comment_formatting
So do you prefer markdown to wikitext? Or is this more about being able to use formatting in other places? I am a little bit concerned that allowing formatting in comments will unleash all sorts of crazy spam...
I really don't mind which formatting language you use, as I'd probably only use basic things like headers, lists, etc. About the comments, you might be right.
But on the description, this should be absolutely doable.
