Loading screen

When you are booting AT, it should say, "powering on components", rather than "loading components"
While it isn't a typical feature, it would just make AT have a little more personality, and thats pretty nice :)

I like it :)

Powering on devices, warming analogue synths, untangling wires...
I really like this idea. It's simple and is just a nice touch for the UI.
(It also gives me another idea for loading screen implementations,
but that's for another thread, xb)

Great ones!

Pre-heating vacuum tubes
Evacuating neighborhood
Calibrating Tonematrix
Splitting tones into semitones

Random phrases would be nice, too. But when it comes to an error report they'd be hindering :(

Haha, "Evacuating neighborhood"
I did think about the potential downside of error reporting.
But if this were to be implemented, perhaps phrases could be associated with actual processes? Say, if loading is broken into 4 processes (0, 1, 2, 3), make process 0 a predefined set of phrases to be randomly chosen from, and 1, and so on.
That way, if a user says "loading stopped at 'Evacuating neighborhood...'" you could easily tell it stoped at process 2 (or something)
You could even make it so its not actually random, but associate those phrases with specific subprocesses (i.e. loading a specific component, establishing server connection at x, etc.)

this would be a very nice touch

Maybe too simple: we could prefix the (random) message with "1/4 ..."

In my opinion, that drains the aesthetic though. But it's ultimately up to you.
(PS: K.I.S.S., I've never heard of TOO simple)

Yeah, but I've seen "too stupid" more than once :))
Some technical indicator will be necessary, I guess.
