Recently, I noticed that when a new device is created, it is placed in a stacked fashion, on the same place on the desktop. However, it may be more helpful to implement preference to intelligently place devices on the desktop based on the previously (manually placed or moved) device.
Likewise, menus such as "Connect to..." can follow this protocol as well, where the previously interfaced device is shown at the top.
