Currently, the centroid is the only device that offers dynamic labeling for its corresponding channels.
For the sake of organization, however, global dynamic labeling for the desktop would help keep things together even when you're "sketching" a basic idea without much regard for keeping things organized; Audiotool would do it for you.
What I mean is, when connecting an effect, say Tube, to a labeled device, say a Heisenberg labeled "Bass" that effect would take the label "Bass Tube"; rather than "Tube (8)" in an extreme case.
