I was thinking about making a different genre categories.
Well, my idea is really simple:
sepparate genres from subgenres, something like this:
EDM
-House
-Bass music
-Dubstep
-Trap
-Hybrid Trap
-etc.
Hip-hop
-Trap
-Boom bap
That is the idea that I was having, I'm not sure if that can be helpful.

I tried assign our future genre list into similar groups but failed. There were too many genres that didn't fit into a group. Adding more groups resulted in more genres which belong to multiple groups.
The main groups I could image were 'electronica' and 'hip hop'. But what to do with 'rock', 'reggae', 'jazz'? What to do with 'Trap (EDM)'?
