It would be useful to have different amplitude curves or profiles for the Fade In and Fade Out effects within Probe. Now they only offer simple linear amplitude change in both effects. It could also offer exponential and logarithmic amplitude changes. The choice could be implemented by a dialogue box opening after choosing the effects from the menu.

Like drawing a hull curve (known from the automations) as overlay.
For me it would be enough to have an average fixed profile. But the ability to draw it or otherwise define it with a slider would be great of course.
how do I fade out
Select the audio you want to fade out, then choose Effects > Fade Out on the top menu bar or press the shortcut "i".
Hey, might deserve its own post, but there's this one thing I've always wondered about..
Am I just confused, or should the shortcuts for fade in/out be switched around?
Right now it's [ FADE IN - U ] and [ FADE OUT - I ]. However, I always get it wrong and press the wrong keyboard shortcut because I can only remember "Fade [I]n" and "Fade o[U]t". Am I just stupid?
No, you make perfect sense. It would be more intuitive the way you say.
