PersonallyI love to use plugins like vital or serum beacuse they are easy to use and have a wide variety of sounds but the main reason why id like to use external plugins is because it would allow for people to have a wider sound bank, effects, and samplers. It would streamline recommendations that others have proposed I understand it would be hard to program but I think it would be worth it for the community in the end and It could put AT in professional hands and it could bring in more people.

so many people have asked for this and the team has not delivered
I don't expect it to happen anymore
This is a good idea, but it has been requested multiple times. Audiotool right now is currently working on the new studio, and FROM WHAT I'VE HEARD (i will not confirm), the idea of plugins is on their roadmap.
At this time, it's a good idea to be patient. :)
Give it some time. They have a lot to work on right now; fixing the site, server issues, current ui/ux issues, evaluating redundant features, etc.
They're a very small team. Albeit I can't speak for them, you could imagine how much it would take going from one old framework to another. Especially with the thousands of songs people made on Audiotool.

I should add that sometimes the developers use Discord to send sneak peaks or to answer questions (don't take it for granted, they can't reveal and answer everything of course lol).
I suggest both you and @ent1 should join it to keep updated.
