Editing Assets

Allowing users to edit samples/presets they created. Like deleting samples/presets, renaming them, allowing them to be hidden to other people, etc.

Most of that would have an impact on existing tracks that use the modified sample. So I guess it's not feasible in a reasonable manner.

I think that samples and presets could follow different rules when it comes to editing them. For example, I think that the connection between a sample and arrangements that use it is stronger (more persistent) than the connection between presets and arrangements where they were applied. There was a discussion about this a while ago: https://www.audiotool.com/board/feature_requests-eGRGOKR3F/update_presets

Maybe an internal unique identifier could be assigned to assets so that their connection with arrangements that use them wouldn't be disturbed if they were renamed. Likewise, while erasing them would not be an option, hiding them would just make them unavailable for any further use but also wouldn't disturb their existing connections to arrangements that used them. I don't think that this functionality would be something impossible to implement.

This is why I avoided the term "impossible" ;)
The request was a mixed bag and my reply was mostly targeted for the "edit"-part which I consider to be the most problematic. Maybe these ideas should be discussed as separate requests.
Edit: I just realized that I possibly misinterpreted "edit". I thought it was about changing the contents. I now understand that he possibly meant to kind of "manage" the samples/presets. Then I fully agree with you.

Yea the word editing might of been throwing you off, I meant manage or be able to change the properties of presets
