its just a bunch of duplicated all-pass filters.
so I don't do anything to the eq?

EQ is shorthand for Equaliser (the device) or equalisation (the application of the device).

using 5 or more multiband compressors in sequence can give a very similar effect, but tends to get out of hand, cpu-wise
its not the same thing
also yes it lags way too much
