Different Cable Connection Methods

You know that moment when you're 25 Heisenburgs away from your Centroids and you have just inserted the 26th and now you have to go connect it? Or worse, when the destination device isn't something big like a Centroid, but a tiny filter you have to zoom around to find and use the auto-movement (dragging the item past the page border) to try and pinpoint the input? I thought of an idea where if you double clicked the output blue symbol that pops up when you hover over it, then a text box pops up and you can type the name (specific) of the input you want. I am aware that in order to know the specific name of the input, one would need to go over to it anyway. However, they would at least not have to do it using the auto-movement while holding down the mouse button. I've noticed this is also more of a problem on really laggy computers, but either way, it might make some things a bit easier for super spread/large projects.
Thanks.

P.S. I am definitely not suggesting that any changes should be made to the original way of connecting, just adding another option for certain circumstances.

The context menu for connecting devices is great. I use it all the time. But in big arrangements, the single vertical list might not have enough space to include all devices. Also, the list isn't ordered alphabetically, which makes finding a specific device a bit harder. What about a context menu with a dynamic layout that adds columns whenever a single column becomes too long?
