Currently, samples that are "deleted" are marked with a strikeout and are flagged as "blocked"

The functionality of deletion should be abstracted from the user and these samples should be removed from the list entirely. After they have been deleted the user cannot interact with them in anyway (e.g. restore them), so they should be removed.
