If you've ever used Synthesia before, you might know you can load a folder into the program and it will automatically read all of its .MIDI files. What I'm suggesting is that Audiotool implement protocol similar to this that allows artists to open files in a custom import window that automatically reads .MIDI, .WAV, .MP3, etc. and plays them in context of the track.
As a scenario, say you want to import a .MIDI file you made in a different program. Opening the context menu of a synth and selecting "Import MIDI from file" will no longer open the default Chrome import file window, but a custom window within Audiotool built specifically so it will play a segment of your track with the .MIDI pseudo-imported so you can preview what your track would sound like with the file.
