Due to the general amount of them, I think it'd be great to have a distinction between collab accounts and solo accounts, and also a way to see who all is associated to each particular account. Also, maybe have it where you can make a collaborative account only if you already have a solo account, and the only way to get into that account is if your account is associated with it.
This makes it possible to track who all does what on the account, assign roles to each member (e.g. moderators, admins, artists, etc. etc.), and generally do whatever you can't using the existing way of making these.

I think with Next there will be less need for collab accounts anyway, however there is always a possibility that people may not wish to promote who is a part of the collab for whatever reason.
I feel it is the artists responsibility to promote that they are involved with the collab or not.
